Check .lt domain
Even though Internet names, emails and text messages can be written with Lithuanian characters, a large part of Lithuanians do not use the correct spelling online. According to the data of the Internet Service Centre DOMREG at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), only 2 000 or just 1% of almost 200 000 registered .lt domains are the domain names with specific Lithuanian letters.
“If at least half of the entrepreneurs from Jonava registered their domains, had high quality websites or e-shops, used efficient e-marketing tools and consistently developed their trademarks, I am sure we would have stronger business, better export, create more jobs and provide higher salaries”, – says Justas Dieninis, active resident of Jonava and employee of Kaunas University of Technology, to Jonavos garsas .
The Internet Service Centre DOMREG at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) informs that the number of .lt domains increased by 2.65% and reached 192 855 in 2018. 35 044 new .lt domains were created in 2018, but 29 568 .lt domains were deleted by their holders.
The seminar for the registrars organised by the Internet Service Centre DOMREG at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) took place on 6 December 2018. The seminar included discussions on domain market changes, data safety and “two factor” authentication, preparation of revision of the .LT procedural regulation, information, education and other marketing communication tools for registrants.
The Internet Service Centre DOMREG at Kaunas University of Technology has updated its website http://domreg.lt. The updated website is more convenient for the visitors, provides more information and better representation of .lt domain and the registry’s activities.
